Samantha Rouette (Acevedo), LCSW

Owner/Founder

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Certified CBT and OCD Specialist, and a Clinical Supervisor within a virtual Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

I completed advanced clinical training through the Center for Anxiety Training, which significantly deepened my specialization in the treatment of anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I earned my Master of Arts in Social Work from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration, where my clinical focus centered on evidence-based behavioral therapies, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Throughout my career, I have worked across multiple levels of care and clinical settings, treating individuals experiencing anxiety, OCD, and eating disorders. My background includes providing crisis intervention in emergency room settings, facilitating group therapy in schools, completing diagnostic and intake assessments for community mental health programs, and offering individual and family therapy in a variety of clinical environments.

In addition, I have worked in partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and residential treatment programs, with a primary clinical focus on anxiety, OCD, and mood disorders.

Concurrently with my practice I provide intensive, specialized treatment for individuals struggling with anxiety and OCD within a higher level of care setting. As a clinical supervisor, I also train and mentor other clinicians to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based treatment.

My work is grounded in practical, skills-based therapy, because anxiety and OCD require targeted behavioral approaches rather than traditional talk therapy alone.

Advanced training and certifications

  • Emetophobia (vomit phobia)

  • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and anxiety

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, camping, interior design projects, and spending time with my husband and our two dogs, Clifton and Ryker.

In addition to my clinical work, I am also a co-owner of a trauma and biohazard cleanup company. This experience gives me a unique perspective into the real-life impact of medical emergencies, accidents, and traumatic events on individuals and families, and it further informs my clinical work with clients navigating anxiety, trauma-related distress, and acute stress responses.

It allows me to bring a grounded, practical understanding of crisis, recovery, and resilience into the therapy room, while maintaining clear professional boundaries between my clinical practice and my business operations.

My Approach

I believe in a relational approach and that growth happens through authentic connection. I am passionate about providing support and education on the "ins and outs" of anxiety and OCD on the brain (hint: It IS treatable). I strive to center treatment around exploring and encouraging individuals to identify their values to help best pave the way to engage in meaningful action that will bring more joy and life satisfaction. I utilize a strength-based, client-centered approach while empowering individuals to develop adaptive coping mechanisms in the face of distress (another hint: you can do hard things!) and overall create a meaningful relationship to one's emotions. Most importantly; I encourage vulnerability and authenticity in my sessions and creates a safe space for self-discovery.
